I got this message whenever I opened a Word document from Outlook with MS Word 2013 installed. It worked fine if I already had Word open before trying to open the .doc or .docx file from Outlook.
Searched online and found a solution. It basically removes some of the extra security in Word.
Open Word 2013
Click File-Options-Trust Center
Click the Trust Center Settings…
Click the Protected View and uncheck all the options
Now you won’t get the annoying error message.
I am having this problem with Office 2007 . . . I have gone into Options – Trust Center, Clicked Trust Center Settings, however, there is nothing that says Protected View . . . how can I resolve this for Office 2007?
